Serinda Swan stars as Dr. Jenny Cooper's and it's her first case as a coroner affects her personally, as she is called to investigate the death of a teen in a youth detention centre. Her own life is upended by the untimely death of her husband and she learns to navigate raising a teenage son on her own.

Inspired by the best-selling series of books by M.R. Hall and created by Morwyn Brebner (Saving Hope), CORONER is a character-driven one-hour drama about Dr. Jenny Cooper (SERINDA SWAN), a recently widowed new coroner who investigates suspicious, unnatural or sudden deaths in Toronto. The series reflects the rich diversity of Toronto, and each case brings Jenny into a new arena in the city, touching on buzz-worthy themes. Jenny taps into her intuition as much as her intellect and heart as she solves cases with the help of homicide detective Donovan McAvoy (ROGER CROSS), a man who isn’t afraid of challenging the status quo; pathologist Dr. Dwayne Allen (LOVELL ADAMS-GRAY) and his assistant River Baitz (KILEY MAY); and Alison Trent (TAMARA PODEMSKI), Jenny’s assistant who keeps it real. And while Jenny solves mysterious deaths, she also deals with clinical anxiety; a teenage son, Ross (EHREN KASSAM), who is still grieving the death of his father; and the prospect of starting a new relationship with the enigmatic Liam (ÉRIC BRUNEAU).

The CBC original series, CORONER is produced by Muse Entertainment, Back Alley Films and Cineflix Studios. Morwyn Brebner is creator, executive producer and showrunner, Adrienne Mitchell (Durham County, Bellevue) is lead director and executive producer for Back Alley Films, Jonas Prupas is executive producer for Muse Entertainment with Peter Emerson and Brett Burlock executive producers for Cineflix Studios. For CBC, Sally Catto is General Manager, Programming; Helen Asimakis is Senior Director, Scripted Content; and Sarah Adams is Executive in Charge of Production. Cineflix Rights has the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to CORONER.

‘Mac’ has been around the block. A twenty-five-year veteran of the police force, he can see through anyone’s bullshit. He approaches each case with a healthy dose of skepticism and realism, while his journey with Jenny brings him closer to the idealism he has lost sight of over the years.

LIAM BOUCHARD played by Eric Bruneau

Liam is a soulful army vet who is lives off the grid and makes his living fixing things. He draws out the vulnerable and sexual side that has been fallow for too long in Jenny. As the season goes on, he falls in love with Jenny, and finds himself becoming an unlikely ally to Jenny’s son.

ROSS KALIGHI played by Ehren Kassam

Jenny’s son Ross is struggling to come to grips with his dad’s sudden and unexpected death. As he goes through the stages of grief, Ross is supported by his loving and steadfast boyfriend, Matteo, who bears the brunt of Ross’ lost emotions. Ross explores who he is without his father, who he is with his widowed mother and who he is without his swim team.

Serinda Swan was born in West Vancouver, B.C., to a family of artists, including her mother, an actress, and her father, a theatre director with a well-established acting school. Serinda actually gravitated to the arts and at three she starred in her first motion picture, Cousins with Ted Danson and Isabella Rossellini.

Swan was introduced to the world in popular shows like Supernatural, Psych, Reaper and Hawaii Five-O. In 2009 Swan was cast as the iconic ‘Zatanna’ in the hugely popular show Smallville. Swan wrapped an independent film entitled Sister starring opposite Reid Scott and Bruce Davison, which tackles the issue of mental illness and debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014. Additionally, she starred in the thriller entitled The Veil, opposite William Moseley. Swan recently wrapped Blood on Wheels, a feature produced by James Franco.

In 2011, Swan was cast as the female lead ‘Erica Reed’, in the A&E series Breakout Kings. The show lasted two seasons and upon its completion she was cast as a series regular in the hit USA show Graceland playing the hard-partying yet hard-working, unorthodox DEA agent ‘Paige Arkin’. Graceland ran for three seasons. On her hiatus from the show, Swan did a special guest arc on the hit CW show, The Tomorrow People. She then moved to portray the iconic Anne Bancroft alongside Jessica Lange in Ryan Murphy’s new show FEUD. Swan has cycled across Cambodia, installed nets in Africa, and skydived from 18,000 ft., the highest jump in North America, in hopes of encouraging others to take a stand and make a difference. She has helped raise over one million dollars to date for various charities and causes close to her heart. Swan is the CEO and Co-Founder of the education technology company, Deedly. Her belief is that education should be free, and through their specific month long curriculum they educate students about world issues and the charities that strive to fix them.
