PRODUCTION BEGINS ON ‘THE VEGAS’ Raphael Grosz-Harvey and Cristina Rosato to star in Canada-Argentina co-pro
Toronto, ON - Principal photography has begun on Alison Murray’s latest feature film THE VEGAS. The film is a co-production between Argentina and Canada that began filming in Toronto in February and moves this week to complete the majority of the production in Argentina. Raphael Grosz-Harvey (The Art of More, The Hummingbird Project) and Cristina Rosato (Mother!, City on a Hill) will lead the cast directed by Alison Murray (Caprichosos de San Telmo, TIFF 2015 selection; Mouth to Mouth, 'Best Feature' winner at the Brooklyn International Film Festival starring Ellen Page). Filming is expected to wrap in April. The film is being produced by Cepa Audiovisual's Felicitas Raffo and Pamela Livia Delgado (Praça Paris, 2017 Rio Film Festival winner of Best Actress and Best Director; Nobody’s Watching) and JA Productions's Jessica Adams (Tammy’s Always Dying, 2019 Toronto International Film Festival selection starring Felicity Huffman; Astronaut, starring Richard Dreyfuss). THE VEGAS will be executive produced by The Film Farm’s Simone Urdl (Guest of Honour, TIFF 2019 selection starring David Thewlis and Luke Wilson; Chloe, starring Amanda Seyfried and Julianne Moore) and Jennifer Weiss (Octavio Is Dead!, starring Jessica Gadon; The Captive, starring Ryan Reynolds). It currently has no distributor attached. Davie Vega (Grosz-Harvey) is a bundle of apathy and cynicism. He bugs the crap out of his sister Diana (Rosato). Nonetheless, Diana wants them to make a trip to Buenos Aires together. It's city they left with their parents when they were still small children. The trip is a chance to reconcile their differences and for Davie to deal with his "issues". When they discover a vibrant nocturnal world of tango, Davie begins to transform, and they are forced to confront unsettling secrets and the reason their family fled Argentina so long ago.
